Accessibility
Flow aims to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA on the screens staff use every day: Summary, Tasks, Calendar, a mailbox's inbox, and an email with its reply.
Checked
- Every text colour passes 4.5:1 and every control boundary 3:1.
- Every page has one heading 1 and its own title; where the heading only repeats the navigation it is there for a screen reader and not shown; every form control has a label; every table heading has a scope.
- It works with a keyboard alone. In a list: j and k move between rows, Enter opens. On an email: e goes to the reply, Ctrl+Enter sends it after the usual confirmation, u goes back to the list.
- It reflows to 320 pixels wide; wide tables scroll inside their own box.
- What an action did, or why it was refused, is said on the page and announced.
Known gaps
- Some definitions are tooltips on headings and figures, which a keyboard or a touch screen cannot open.
- The admin screens and the registers have had the same fixes but not the same checking with a screen reader.
- Checked with automated tests and in one browser; not yet with a screen reader or by disabled staff.
